Susie Renshaw

Susie gained her BA (Hons in Music and French from the University of Birmingham in 2002 where she studied piano and harpsichord. She continued her studies at Trinity College of Music with a postgraduate performance diploma in piano. Susie completed her Masters in Music Therapy at Nordoff Robbins in 2009. Since qualifying, Susie has also undertaken a foundation course in psychodynamic counselling skills.

Prior to joining Music Therapy Bedfordshire, Susie worked in SEN schools in London and Hertfordshire, as well as for Nordoff Robbins in both North London and Croydon.

Susie has specialised in music therapy with deaf children working in two schools for deaf children: one in London and one in Hertfordshire. She is qualified to Level 2 in British Sign Language.

Susie also works freelance and set up work in a mainstream school in London 6 years ago, developing the service over the years.

Susie remains an active musician – she sings in St Albans Chamber Choir where she is also chairperson; she performs as a chamber musician and accompanist as well as working as part of a piano duo called Fingers Crossed. Susie also teaches piano.

Susie is also a rugby enthusiast, having coached children’s rugby for a few years, and now playing in the women’s touch rugby team, The Warriors.
