Anna Jacobs

Anna earned her BMus (Hons) degree from the University of Lancaster in 1993 and qualified as a Music Therapist in 1995. In 2000, she completed an MA in Music Therapy, conducting research on Music Therapy for adults with learning disabilities, and has since undertaken additional training in counselling.

With extensive experience working with both children and adults with learning disabilities and mental health, Anna’s work has included supporting many adopted and looked-after children. She is also a BAMT-approved clinical supervisor.

Anna has a particular interest in working with adolescents with behavioural challenges and in group therapy. She places strong emphasis on organisational dynamics in her clinical work and in supervising other therapists. From 2007 to 2009, she served on the Executive Committee of the British Association for Music Therapy and has presented at numerous conferences in the UK and Norway.

Outside of her professional role, Anna plays in the Bedfordshire Woodwind Academy Flute Ensemble. When not making music, she can often be found on the tennis court—playing, coaching, or refereeing.
